After a long and arduous journey, the Gisborne Block houses have finally reached completion, each boasting a unique and stunning exterior look. The contestants turned to James Hardie for design inspiration, utilizing a variety of fibre cement cladding products to achieve their vision.
Tom and Sarah-Jane, winners of Landscape and Facade week, showcased a cottage look using Linea™ Weatherboards and Axon™ Cladding in a soft grey palette that impressed the judges. Their clever use of colors and materials created a breathtaking contrast between old and new elements, earning them well-deserved praise.
Rachel and Ryan’s house featured a mix of Linea™ Weatherboards, Hardie™ Fine Texture Cladding, and Axon™ Cladding, creating a visually striking striped look that harmonized with their surroundings. The judges appreciated the textures and colors chosen, noting how well they complemented the landscape and stone elements.
Ankur and Sharon tackled the challenge of having the largest house on The Block, achieving a calming and uncluttered look with their shed using Hardie™ Fine Texture Cladding and Linea™ Weatherboards. Their choice of colors and materials created an impressive silhouette in the landscape, blending old and new elements seamlessly.
Dylan and Jenny’s house stood out with its Board and Batten look achieved through a combination of Hardie™ Fine Texture Cladding and Axent™ Trim. The judges were impressed by the palatial feel of the home, especially noting the soaring columns and the contemporary aesthetic created by the color choices.
Omar and Oz’s landscaping and house facade were a standout feature, showcasing a flawless transition between old and new elements with Linea™ Weatherboards. Their soft grey and white color scheme, paired with beautiful landscaping, created a resort-like atmosphere that left the judges impressed.
Scott Cam’s cottage, the only original dwelling on the site, received a stunning makeover using Linea™ Weatherboards for both the cottage and the modern extension. The cohesive look between the old and new parts of the house, along with the choice of colors, resulted in a sensational transformation that spoke for itself.
