Australian shed brand Easyshed has recently expanded its delivery fleet by incorporating new Mercedes-Benz trucks. Established in 1983, Easyshed has grown to become the largest shed brand in Australia, manufacturing its products at its Albury production facility. Recognized as one of the country’s fastest-growing direct-to-consumer tech companies, Easyshed’s latest move involves the addition of Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks to its fleet as part of its ongoing business expansion.
With a focus on enhancing its delivery capabilities, Easyshed has introduced three Actros 2663 trucks to its ‘Big Sheds’ delivery fleet and plans to further increase this number within the next year. Additionally, the company has integrated three Fuso Canter trucks into its metro ‘Garden Shed’ delivery fleet, with plans to expand this fleet by an additional three trucks later in the year.
Johan Andersson, CFO of Easyshed, emphasizes the importance of their transport fleet in providing top-notch customer service. By vertically integrating the delivery function, Easyshed aims to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by controlling the entire delivery process. Andersson highlights the significance of using technologically advanced vehicles like Mercedes-Benz and Fuso trucks, which prioritize safety, efficiency, and connectivity.
Both the Actros and Canter models feature cutting-edge active emergency braking technology designed to enhance safety by preventing potential collisions. Andrew Assimo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Daimler Truck Australia Pacific, expresses excitement about collaborating with Easyshed, a regional success story. Daimler Truck vehicles are instrumental in delivering Easyshed’s premium products to customers across Australia.
The Mercedes-Benz Actros 2663, a flagship model in the Actros range, boasts a powerful 16-liter OM473 six-cylinder engine generating 630hp, coupled with a 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). These trucks were supplied by local dealership Daimler Trucks Albury, the winner of the 2022 Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Dealer of the Year award.
By leveraging advanced technology and a data-driven approach, Easyshed aligns its transport strategy with its core identity as a tech company. The decision to use state-of-the-art vehicles underscores Easyshed’s commitment to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer experiences nationwide. As the company continues to expand its fleet with top-of-the-line trucks, it reinforces its position as a leader in the shed industry.
With the integration of Mercedes-Benz and Fuso trucks into its delivery fleet, Easyshed is poised to further enhance its operational efficiency and customer service standards. This strategic move not only reflects the company’s commitment to innovation but also underscores its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its customers in the competitive Australian market.
