An old, gutted out freezer shed in South Australia is set to transform into a vibrant live music hotspot, just a stone’s throw away from Lot 100. Tin Shed Distilling Co is embarking on a venture in the Adelaide Hills, near Nairne, to introduce gin, whiskey, and rum production to the region along with a cellar door distillery.
Despite an unsuccessful bid for state government funding through the LIVE Music Activation Fund, the company is rallying the community’s support to raise $15,000 by week’s end. Donors can receive a bottle of Nairne Gin, Lazy Daze Single Malt Whisky, or Barrel Aged Gin as a token of appreciation or contribute $50 to the cause.
Additionally, there are ten exclusive lifetime memberships up for grabs, offering a 10% discount on-site purchases indefinitely, coupled with a personalized high-quality leather key fob as a keepsake.
Owner of Tin Shed Distilling Co, Ian Schmidt, envisions creating a platform at the new venue for both established and emerging local talents to showcase their artistry. Schmidt emphasizes that supporting this initiative means investing in a remarkable space for everyone’s enjoyment.
The distillery aims to operate as environmentally friendly as possible, striving to become a net-zero facility in the near future. The seven-day operation promises to provide the community with a welcoming space to savor quality drinks in good company.
With plans for a cellar door, the venue will offer customers a comprehensive whisky distillery experience, including tours, tastings, blending events, and educational programs. Patrons can anticipate indulging in renowned spirits like ‘INIQUITY’ Whisky, ‘REQUIEM’ Rum, and ‘PIOTR’ Vodka.
Formerly the Chapman’s Meatworks site, extensive efforts over the past two years have transformed the location into an upcoming favorite destination. Ian envisions the venue as a vibrant nexus of creativity and community where the art of distilling harmonizes with local music.
Tin Shed Distilling Co is committed to community empowerment with plans for substantial annual investment in the local arts scene, boosting tourism, nurturing emerging talent, enhancing community life, and promoting sustainable practices.
Join in crafting a space where art, community, and exceptional spirits converge. Your support will ensure Nairne’s arts scene thrives, guaranteeing a continuous flow of music and creativity. For more details, visit Tin Shed Distilling Co’s Facebook page or website.
